Travel Photos: Harlem Heights, NY

A few photos from Harlem / Washington Heights / Jackson Heights

Thanks to everybody for your support and sharing this adventure, and more particularly Rebekah Burgess and Martin Lack (see this unbelievable comment about ooamerica.com!) for their amazing nomination of ooamerica to the ‘Versatile Blogger Award’. There are a few ‘requirements’ including sharing 7 things, so here’s a start, 3 ‘random’ things I would like to share:

  • I think ‘naivety’ can be the (convex?) mirror of wisdom
  • It’s possible to make things better (not so sure what that means though – ‘pursuit’ kind of thing).
  • Smile!

- and thanks to all who looked at the poll: what would you like to see during the upcoming road-trip?

Are you still in Harlem?! I live in Harlem! I would love it if you would let me come see you in action :D I love your vision, and am notorious amongst my friends for talking to and meeting people of all kinds. I think we’d get along fabulously! What do you think?

Thanks for your kind words. Judging by your route map you have been near or through the Bitteroot vallley in SW Montana? (I have been reading about it in Jared Diamond’s very sobering book Collapse). It sounds like an amazing place; and yet it is so alarming to hear that it can have such a complex web of environmental problems ranging from toxic waste, soil erosion and salinization, groundwater and forestry management problems, and over-population?. Is there any part of this planet we haven’t screwed up by going there? Oh yes, its called the Core (admit it you thought I was going to say Antarctica, didn’t you? Unfortunately, even there we are having an adverse impact (tourists dropping litter etc.)

and thanks for your suggestion, I’ll look into it and it would be interesting if we could make it there. any other ideas are welcome :)
