Ha ha! Chicken channel. Curious – did your friend enjoy the food from Swiss Chalet?
I think he did. Actually, we both did.
Hilarious
Hi, I noticed that you were in MI? Where about did you visit? If you haven’t been to the Copper Country area you really need to go there. It’ s rich in history, culture and just an all around gorgeous place to visit!
Thanks for your suggestion, was in MI at the beginning of part 1, now over a year ago. So many fascinating places to visit, so many missed… maybe next time?
Yes. Although I no longer live there, I do have family still there. The area is most beautiful during the summer and early fall when the leaves are at their fullest color potential. Winter is beautiful also, but very harsh temp’s. The Copper Country is also known as Houghton/Hancock. It has a canal that separates the two cities and then there is Copper Harbor which sits right on the edge of Lake Superior. When visiting there, it’s almost like taking a step back into time.
Thanks for the details, will look into it!
I see you are supposed to be around Atlanta, GA in May. Contact me if you are interested.
Appreciate the offer – was in Atlanta during part 1 of the road-trip in 2011. Now on part 2 – went through Atlanta again but very briefly. Next time?
Absolutely! Always accommodating fellow travelers.
Loved having you visit in SC! If you’re ever near Ashtabula, OH we’d love to reconnect!
Hi Kay, it will be a pleasure to reconnect. Best till then!
Thanks for following my blog! And now I am checking out yours, too. Obviously, we both love travel!
Travel and share! thanks!
Definitely!definitely!
Thanks for the Follow!. Funny that we connect. I am originally from Denmark. In 1990 I landed at Newark Airport, bought a 1981 Chevy and hit the road…6 months with no planned route turned out to be the most important journey of my life…..
We’re made of (by) the journey… thanks! more coming for part 2.
You could go waaay out of your way, and come to Allendale, SC. 10th poorest county in the US. But was a hopping place 60 years ago. Lots of old memories & photos & stories, compared to the overwhelming despair here today.
You need to visit Grand Rapids Mi in the early fall for ArtPrize a week long largerest art contest in the world. You would love it. Google ArtPrize. just a thought.
Wow, looks like an awesome trip.
oh god, you did a real long itinerary. you r so lucky to enjoy your time with a really beautiful trip (i guess) like this. i hope i ll do this too one time in my life ! ahah
enjoy the next!
